The Anamorphic Lens Models

SynthEyes’s anamorphic lens model is a polynomial model widely used in the VFX industry, with nine separate parameters for X and nine for Y, plus five additional parameters.

We’ll introduce the basic model, then its four variants; you’ll select one of those four depending on the situation.

SynthEyes’s architecture permits additional lens models to be added in the future, with more and more parameters as proves necessary, though such models will require more trackers, and more complex non-native compositing nodes in downstream applications. Here, we’ve specifically concentrated on using a model that is available downstream.
