What Happens Next
If the shift key is not held:
The mesh is reparented to the tracker
The mesh’s world-space position and orientation remain unchanged
The mesh moves with the tracker using its current offset
If the shift key is held:
The mesh snaps so its origin sits exactly at the tracker’s 3D position
Rotation and scale are preserved
The mesh moves with the tracker, with no offset
In both cases:
The mesh now moves with the tracker whenever the tracker moves
The parenting is relative: if the tracker moves, the mesh follows using the same offset
If the tracker is deleted, the mesh is automatically unparented
When the mesh snaps to the position of the tracker (shift key held), the mesh’s position gets set to (0, 0, 0). That can be edited after the parenting, to set a fixed position offset between the mesh and tracker.
