Menu Commands

As described in the very beginning, you can click a menucmd to pretend to click a SynthEyes main menu item. To list the menu commands, which are slightly cleaned-up versions of what you see in the menus, rules producing a menucmd.

Synthia will continue following your directions immediately after doing the click. If you need to wait for the operation to complete, use click and wait for a

menucmd, for example, to do a file open where you want Synthia to modify the SynthEyes scene after the file has been opened.

You can check or uncheck a menu command, such as show seed paths from SynthEyes's View menu. And there are conditions for whether a menu command is checked or grayed out.

Exercise: for illustration only, determine if it is a stereo shot via the Shot menu.

Action IDs are similar to menu commands, and are used for operations

that appear on multiple right-click menus and/or control panels,

that don't have to happen in any particular window or viewport,

don't require a particular panel to be open to be effective, and

don't appear on the main menu.

Examples include 3-d move mode and 3-d creation mode for the 3-D viewports.

Exercise: what action id might be handy for a tea party?

Exercise: what does the sentence go! do?
