Comparing and Copying Viewport Layouts
Scenario. You have two “Quad” layouts—one in /Scene and one in /User. You need to compare their numeric settings (camera positions, view arrangements, etc.) to decide which one to standardize, even though they cannot be viewed side by side.
Open the Workflow Presets Manager. Go to Edit > Manage Workflow Presets.
Both panes are in Presets mode by default.
Switch to Values Mode for Comparison. Click Values to convert the right pane into numeric display mode.
Display the Scene Layout. In the left pane, click on /Scene/Viewport Layouts/Quad (Scene). Observe the numeric values.
Display the User Layout. In the left pane, scroll to /User/Viewport Layouts/Quad (User) and click it.
Compare the Values Manually. Manually switch between the scene and user selections in the left pane. Look for differences (such as reversed views or varying bounding boxes) to decide which layout better meets your needs.
Decide on an Action. If you prefer the scene layout, plan to copy it to /User. If you prefer the user layout, copy it into /Scene or simply leave it as is.
Copy the Layout. Switch back to Presets mode. Drag the desired “Quad” from the left pane to the right pane, or use an Action > Copy command. Confirm any prompts regarding overwriting an existing preset.
Finalize. Click OK to save your changes or Cancel if you wish to discard them.
Use Undo/Redo if you need to revert any mistakes.
