Key Components
Originating Project Name: An informational field telling you which preset file is in effect. You can’t directly type here; it’s set when you do “Save As” to create or rename the preset file.
(User) Short Name: A short, editable identifier used in file-naming tags such as <PROJ>. This sets the default for all new scenes. Typing here doesn’t immediately overwrite the current scene—unless you later merge (“Save” + “Yes”)
Scene’s Originating Project Name: Shows which preset was active when the scene was created. This is purely for reference.
(Scene) Short Name: A local override for the current scene. Changing it only affects this open shot, unless you explicitly save it back to the user-level preset.
Save: Copies changes from the scene-level (bottom box) to the user-level preset (top box). If the two differ, you’ll be asked if you want to update
/User/Current, which merges the scene’s settings upward.
Save As: Lets you create or overwrite a project preset file. You can also choose to update /User/Current at the same time, which makes the newly saved file your active project preset.
Load: Replaces your current user presets with values from a chosen project preset file. Optionally applies those values to the current scene as well.
